The Evergreen Project
Way of life
A slower rhythm, shared with people and with the forest.

Simple, conscious living
Life at Evergreen is simple on purpose. Without the noise of the city, days follow the light, the weather and the needs of the land. A deep connection with nature, simplicity and a little wildness create space for self-study and self-exploration — the yogic path, lived every day.

Hands in the earth
Every day we take care of the land and help the project grow: organic gardening following permaculture principles, natural building with earth, cob and wood, woodworking, forestry and fire protection, water and waste management. No experience needed — we learn by doing, together.

The food we share
Our kitchen is vegetarian. We cook fresh, nourishing meals with local, seasonal ingredients — some from our own garden — inspired by Mediterranean traditions, and share them at long tables under the trees. Cooking is part of community life: everyone lends a hand.

Practice
The shala is the heart of the land. Yoga, meditation and pranayama, movement and breath are offered regularly to every level — from first-timers to teachers in training. Practice is an invitation, never an obligation.

Living in community
We hold circles to share how we feel and to make decisions together. We celebrate seasons, birthdays and arrivals; we hike, play music and sit around the fire. Living with others is a practice too — of listening, patience and joy.

Respect for every being
People, animals, plants and the forest itself.

We reduce, reuse, compost and repair.

Common spaces and tasks are everyone’s business.
